A boy’s lazy dream

With a lot of contemplation
My boy says he’ll be a taxi driver when he grows up
he says ‘they always seem to have some dough
and all they do is drive around’
I say ‘sure boy you can be one when you grow up
but remember to learn your lessons first
and remember you need to do a driving test
a license is something you must have’
he then starts to comprehend
that being a taxi driver won’t be so fun.

With a lot of contemplation still
my boy says he’ll be a beggar in the street
he says ‘a beggar always seem to have some dough
life sure seem simple and easy for them’
I say ‘sure boy you can be a beggar when you grow up
but remember to learn your lessons first
you might need to learn some karate chop
in case you have to fight the goons you meet’
he then starts to comprehend
that being a beggar won’t be an easy thing.

With a lot of contemplation still
my boy says he’ll be a helper at the gas station
he says ‘they seem to have lot of dough
life sure seem fun to watch cars drive by’
I say ‘sure boy you can be a helper when you grow up
but remember to learn your lessons first
you might need to do some exercise
so that you can stand for hours on your feet’
he then starts to comprehend
that being a helper won’t just do for him.

I say ‘My boy you should take your time
you are but a child of nine
you can do whatever you want
you can be anything you wish
but don’t take the easy way out
don’t take short-cut to life
Nurture your dream and you will see
A life of glee unfold in time.’
